The house, which was designed by New York architectural firm Walker & Gillette and built between 1918 and 1921, is now a museum and used for a variety of events. Planting Fields Arboretum State Historic Park has over 409 acres of greenhouses, lawns, paths and gardens as well as a historic 65 room Tudor mansion. Open for tours from spring through the fall, the grounds include The Italian Blue Pool Garden, Garden Court, The Synoptic Garden with 5 acres of trees and shrubs arranged in alphabetical order, The Camellia House with over 300 plants that bloom from November through March and the Main Greenhouse.
